How do I survive a long distance relationship?

Write her letters.

My husband and I, when we were dating, were apart for almost 2 years. I was in Grad school in Indiana while he was in Colorado.

While we talked on the phone and also visited each other every 3-4 months, one thing that made a big impact - he wrote me a hand-written letter every week. It wasn't necessarily long, but it was hand-written, and he'd also enclose comics, an article I might find interesting, etc.

This kind of thing costs very little except time, but it's the kind of thing that melts a woman's heart. I still have all his letters saved in a shoebox. They are very precious to me. If your girl is at all sentimental, she will feel the same way about your letters.

Your letters don't need to be long or overly verbose or even heavily romantic - but they should be heart felt. If you miss her, tell her. If you remember something charming or unique about her - let her know. She will read and re-read those letters when she misses you.
